This data set provides the figure source data, simulation outputs and plotting scripts accompanying Development of a Dynamic Two-Phase Pore-Network Model for Evaporation-Driven Salt Precipitation: Pore-Scale Processes and REV-Scale Implications (Water Resources Research, manuscript 2026WR045679).
The source code of the dynamic two-phase pore-network model (DPNM) developed in this study is archived separately on DaRUS: https://doi.org/10.18419/DARUS-6582.
Package contents
postprocessing_Chen2026b.tar.gz contains one folder per data-based figure: Figure_3/, Figure_4/, Figure_5/, Figure_7/ through Figure_13/, Figure_15/ through Figure_19/, Figure_S1/ and Figure_S2/. Each figure folder contains source data in data/, the original plotting scripts in scripts/, the reference figure files in reference/, a plot.py driver and a README.md. Regenerated figures are written to that folder's output/ directory.
The package root contains plot_all.py, pinned Python dependencies in requirements.txt, docker/Dockerfile, CHECKSUMS.sha256 and README.md. The README includes the figure inventory, data dictionary, units and software requirements. Figures 1, 2, 6 and 14 and panels (b) of Figures 8 and 9 are schematics and are not regenerated from this data set.
Regenerating figures with Docker
tar -xzf postprocessing_Chen2026b.tar.gz
cd postprocessing_Chen2026b
docker build -t dpnm-figures -f docker/Dockerfile .
docker run --rm --user "$(id -u):$(id -g)" -v "$PWD":/work dpnm-figures all --check
These commands use a Linux shell. The Docker image supplies the Python, LaTeX, font and rendering dependencies. The all --check arguments regenerate all included figures and compare them with the reference files; selected figures can be requested instead, for example 7 S1.
Regenerating figures without Docker
tar -xzf postprocessing_Chen2026b.tar.gz
cd postprocessing_Chen2026b
python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python3 plot_all.py fast
python3 plot_all.py all --check
fast runs the CSV-based figures; all also runs the VTK-based figures (Figures 15-19). A LaTeX installation with pdflatex is required for the PGF plots, pdftoppm for PDF comparisons, and off-screen rendering support for PyVista. See README.md for the complete environment and font requirements. Individual figure drivers can be run from their figure folder, for example cd Figure_7 followed by python3 plot.py.
