Summary
This dataset contains interval photos and metadata of the self-shaping process of three self-shaping wood furniture case studies, including time-lapse image sequences and CSV files documenting image metadata and gaps in the footage from camera-based acquisition.

Dataset content
The Images folders contain the interval photographs of each prototype during self-shaping in JPG format, as referenced by filename and timestamp in the accompanying Shaping_documentation_*.csv files.
Each Shaping_documentation_*.csv file provides an overview of the recording period per case study, including start and end time, total duration, number of images, capture interval, and camera used.
Each Gaps_in_footage_*.csv file lists the selected images with corresponding relative time, absolute timestamp, effective interval, and notes on irregular intervals or missing frames, enabling reconstruction and quality assessment of the time-lapse sequences. (2026-08-06)

- Case study C1: Demonstrates a self-shaping furniture prototype with variable curvature along its length, documented by photos captured at 10-minute intervals; for the analysis in the associated publication, only every third image (effective interval 30 minutes) was used, while the full 10-minute dataset can be provided on request.
- Case study H1: Documents a lounge chair prototype that unfurls from a compact flat-pack into an expanded seating configuration, recorded at 1-minute intervals; for the publication, only every 120th image (effective interval 120 minutes) was evaluated, and the complete 1-minute dataset is available upon request.
- Case study H2: Captures a furniture prototype exhibiting an S-shaped transition with integrated locking behaviour, recorded at 10-minute intervals; for the analysis, only every 6th image (effective interval 60 minutes) was used, and both the full 10-minute dataset and an additional second image series from a different camera perspective with 1-minute interval can be shared on request.
